Each year I ask students to share their favorite memories. This is what they've said.

2024

"I lost my Tuba one day, that was tubad."

"One of my favorite memories was when I got stuck in the bathroom twice because there was no toilet paper."

"One this i loved was when we would pay for ridiculous amounts of band bucks and have them given to us in the middle of class."

"One of my favorite memories was when Mr. Bandman had told Kayden and I that he couldn't wait until me and him didn't sit next to each other during pass offs because we never shut up and we had been sitting next to each other the entire year."

"The time I won the scale challenge tours Noah and won free chocolate."

"My favorite memory from band is the anniversary of cheese on the window."

"my favorite memory is when it was storming and the lights flickered and some people screamed and it was really funny "

"I love band because brass better then all. Ayden Suriel Sophia and Kaylee are the OG's they're the best in this band Marcos sells but he's forgiven in the end."

"Band is a good path to go to learn new things about your instrument ive had my best memories and best time in band this was last year but me and Kayleigh would see each other in the locker room and we would just run to each other that was fun and this year some people had the elementary field trip and Mr. Robinson would wear the banana costume and on the bus the bus drivers driving was so bumpy everyone was jumping out of the seat ive had a good time in band i love mr robinson and my classmates."

"My favorite memory is when Mr Robinson had to teach Aliyah how to hold the cowbell and it took them awhile to get it and Aliyah looked very confused. Another favorite memory is when Mr Robinson demonstrated how he threw his bouton by an accident. One more favorite memory is when me and Clarissa kept squeaking while we were playing the extra song at the winter concert and my mom noticed her."

"The one thing that I love about band is the free pizza we got."

"My favorite memory is when I finally passed off number 1 and when I had got my first band buck and you're the best teacher you always believed in me and you were very supportive. I had a good year with everybody in our class!!"

"My favorite thing about band is playing my clarinet and that unlike other classes I get the help I need when I need it and a lot of my friends are there and support me, especially Gracie."

"How when me and Kayleigh were finding out if we got accepted into Harrison I said if I didn't get in and she did me and her were going to fight luckily both of us did."

"Me and Sophia are very competative. She told me she would kill me if I got into Harrison and she didn't. Every time we see each other we yell PARIS. My band buddy."

"I love how Mr. Robinson treats us and how he teaches us, because he takes his time and explains it. He's an amazing teacher."

"My favorite band memory was when I went up to Mr. Lugo" (AHS Band Director) "and asked him where Mr. Robinson was and he was behind him and said 'Hi Luna' and I got really scared. And every day he would say 'Hi Luna' in the hallways and every other band memory with Ayden, Audrey, Nevaeh, and Kayden. PS: Free pizza!"

"Beginning of school was pretty good going band for the third year was a memory for me. Second was when we have an MPA concert, our first performance was great because of our skills in band. Second performance" (sight reading) "was a little bit bad, but we tried our best to finish the song. Last, was the result and surprisingly we as a band scored a superior in history for the symphonic band. That was the best memory we had."

"I would somehow always get my finger stuck in the bottom of my flute but all 3 years Sophia was always there to laugh at me but still help get it out."

"The most interesting thing about band is the little stories you tell when you are trying to engrave the little things we're doing wrong and make them go away so we can sound good. I remember one time in 6th grade you told us the flip-flop story and it was crazy. I love this class and I'm glad I got to be a part of it."

"Band is an amazing place. Everyone makes mistakes but you learn something new each day. Sometimes Mr. Robinson drives us nuts by being picky on a pass off, but he is the best director!! He is a good person, and he is good at teaching. I remember each day I was getting better at my instrument. I love band so much and I wanna stick to it!!"
